Robin Gill completes London Marathon in charity fundraising effort
24 April, 2017
Storrar Cowdry Partner Robin Gill ran the London Marathon on 23 April, raising over £7,500 for charity with his two Chester-based teammates.
The marathon run was part of a fundraising effort by Robin and his teammates Alex Makinson and Sarah Connolly for the Charity Dreams Come true, which aims to enrich the lives of children with serious and life-limiting medical conditions by providing ‘dream’ experiences and specialist equipment to help with their daily lives.
Robin completed the course in a gruelling 5 hours 44 minutes, his third London Marathon in six years, and said “I didn’t train all that time just to come here and get it over with as fast as I could! The atmosphere and support were inspirational. I am so delighted that we have been able to support such a tremendous cause and would like to thank our generous supporters that have helped us to do so.” Not one to rest on his laurels, Robin also ran the Chester Half Marathon four weeks later as a ‘victory lap!’
