We are sad to announce the death of Denise Woodward, Consultant Solicitor, on 22nd April 2023.

Denise was a valued member of our Family Law Team and a hugely popular member of staff. Denise will be sorely missed by all her work colleagues and the legal fraternity in Chester and beyond.

Darlene is the Managing Partner at Storrar Cowdry and as such deals with the firm’s Risk and Compliance duties and responsibilities.  Darlene’s expertise is in the financial aspects of divorce, particularly high value divorces, in which she has specialised for over 30 years and she still has time to run a small caseload of clients dealing with the financial aspects of divorce. Darlene Storrar was appointed Under Sheriff of Cheshire on 1st April, 2022.

Educated at Queen Mary College, London and then graduating with honours in law from Liverpool University, Darlene has been with the firm since its formation in 1983. Her reputation as a specialist family lawyer is well known throughout the North West.

Darlene is a past President of the Cheshire and North Wales Law Society (2013/2014).  In 2016 Darlene was awarded the Cheshire & North Wales Law Society Lifetime Achievement Award.

Darlene’s expertise and recent instructions relate to high value divorce settlements, dealing with complex company ownership structures and numerous pension assets.

Darlene’s work includes:-

  • Divorce and Judicial Separation
  • Negotiated financial settlements on divorce/separation
  • Financial proceedings in both County and High Court
  • Prenuptial and Postnuptial Agreements
