Storrar Cowdry races in the Chester Racecourse Pantomime Horse Race

Storrar Cowdry were once again delighted to support the Chester Racecourse Pantomime Horse Race, raising more than £670 for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd in memory of our friend and former colleague, Denise Woodward.

For the third year running, Storrar Cowdry sponsored a “horse” in the annual Pantomime Horse Race, which took place at Chester Racecourse on Sunday 2 August 2026.

Janet Baines, Partner in our Family Department, was the proud owner of Storrar’s Star, representing the firm in the race.

Sadly, Storrar’s Star was not quite on top form on the day and racing glory proved elusive! Nevertheless, members of the Storrar Cowdry team enjoyed a thoroughly fun day at the races while supporting a cause that is particularly close to our hearts.

Most importantly, the event helped raise more than £670 for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd in memory of Denise Woodward, our much-loved friend and former colleague.

The Hospice of the Good Shepherd provides specialist palliative care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses, together with support for their families and carers across Cheshire West and Deeside.

Everyone at Storrar Cowdry would like to thank those who supported Janet, Storrar’s Star and the fundraising effort, helping to raise such a fantastic amount for the Hospice in Denise’s memory.
