Gill Knowles joins Storrar Cowdry

10 February, 2020

Solicitor, Gill Knowles, has joined Storrar Cowdry as a partner in our private client team.

Gill has lived in Chester for 20 years and was previously head of a private client department at another large Chester practice. She enjoys working on a wide variety of cases including Succession & Estate planning for individuals, families and business owners and has experience in advising high profile individuals, local landowners and a large number of trustees. One recent interesting case involved complex trust litigation which was heard in the High Court.

Gill says “Clients often tell me they value my pragmatic and personal approach and I think it’s important to provide advice in the most straightforward and effective way possible. People come to Storrar Cowdry with a legal problem and our job is to find a solution that works”.

Louise Eccleston, Head of the Department at the Practice, said “We are delighted to welcome Gill to Storrar Cowdry and she will be a valued member of our Private Client team”.

Gill was born in Liverpool where her father was a Docks Policeman. He would regale her and her family with tales over the dinner table about his day and the people he encountered. He explained the basics of the justice system to her at an early age.  Gill says this is why she wanted a career in the legal profession.   Having qualified as a solicitor in 2003 after studying Law & Accounting at University, Gill became a full member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP) and current Secretary to the STEP Cheshire branch.   She is also an Ambassador for the Charity Dementia UK.

Gill says “I am joining a very exciting and respected law firm as a partner and with a supportive team I am looking forward to working with them”.
